Raising money for the Bon Scott statue in Fremantle and support Act Ltd.

It’s every Oz Rock fans dream to see Australia’s best known classic hard rock bands playing together at the same concert.

From 3pm to 10pm on Sunday 25th February 2007 it will happen at Claremont showgrounds WA. Playing their own hits plus Bon era AC/DC classics, will be The Angels, Rose Tattoo and The Party Boys, featuring some of Australia’s most highly regarded rock musicians including former members of AC/DC and Status Quo and some extra special guests!!. Joining are The Screaming Jets, Dave Warner’s from the Suburbs, The Spazzys, The Flairz and more.

In Bon Scott’s adopted home town of Fremantle WA, a passionate committee has now been formed to raise a statue honouring the number one rock and roll front men of all time. (from UK Classic Rock magazine July 2004 issue). To raise the money needed some of Bon’s Oz rock friends, contemporaries and younger artists influenced by AC/DC and Bon are performing a concert at Claremont showgrounds to celebrate Bon’s life and to give his fans the opportunity to contribute personally to the funding of the statue.

Everyone attending the concert will have their name recorded in perpetuity on the website www.bonscottconcert.com.au

The Angels were signed to Alberts records in 1975 by AC/DC’s producers Harry Vanda and George Young after a recommendation from Bon and Angus and Malcolm Young when they toured together in South Australia. Bon was the only singer to have ever joined The Angels on stage in their heyday. www.theangels.com.au

Rose Tattoo formed in Sydney in 1976 when Pete Wells ( from Buffalo) met Angry Anderson (from Buster Brown). They were also signed to Alberts records with George and Harry producing and both The Angels and Rose Tattoo spent many fun filled hours sharing the studio with Bon and AC/DC until they left to reside permanently overseas.
As with The Angels, Bon was the only other person ever invited on stage to sing with the Tatts. www.rosetattoo.com.au

The Party Boys feature the cream of Australia’s rock musicians, including Swanee, Dave Tice (Buffalo), Paul Christie ( Mondo Rock), Graham”Buzz”Bidstrup (The Angels, GANGgajang), Mark Evans (former bass player with AC/DC), Alan Lancaster (Status Quo), Kevin Borich, John Brewster (The Angels) and Randall Waller (Shania Twain band). The all star outfit will play a selection of their own hits plus Bon era AC/DC classics including a couple of songs Bon wrote before joining AC/DC.

The Screaming Jets were the most popular band to emerge from the Australian industrial town of Newcastle until Silverchair stole this crown. Singer Dave Gleeson cites AC/DC and The Angels as major influences and in 1989 he and his school friend, guitarist Grant Walmsley, gathered a bunch of Newcastle lads to form this hard driving hard rocking band. www.screamingjets.com.au

Dave Warner is a home-grown WA musician, songwriter and author. His band Dave Warner’s from the Suburbs formed in 1977, when Oz rock was beginning to take over the radio waves from the stranglehold of disco and suburban pubs were full to overflowing with ecstatic rock fans. His music is best described as Lou Reed meets Tomas Pynchon, while Bob Dylan has referred to Dave as his “favourite Australian songwriter”.
