Smirnoff Experience, Tentland, Perth Cup 2007

Camille Bradsmith and her team were this year contracted to coordinate the exclusive Smirnoff Marquee within Tentland at Perth Cup.

The event well exceeded all expectation with ticket holders getting more than just a marquee, drinks and food; they got the ‘Smirnoff Experience’.

Instead of just a single marquee, the Smirnoff Experience was a huge area broken into several different areas.

The Mega Marquee, the Smirnoff ‘Twist’ Marquee was a blast of colour, decorated with roof silks in the colours of the Smirnoff Twist flavours. Circular truss sections snaked their way down the centre of the marquee, highlighting the catwalk with Matin Mac 700’s, 300’s and 250’s for the upcoming fashion parades and dances. International DJ Jeremy Healy entertained the swelling crowd who watched in awe at the glamorous and sexy parades. The dances that performed in the afternoon had everyone screaming with excitement and created a sudden urge among the female crowd to get into their fishnet stocking, knee high boots, sexy shorts and mini singlets and start dance lessons.

The Smirnoff ‘Ice’ Marquee was named after the popular Smirnoff pre-mix and dubbed the ‘Chill Out’ Marquee, with the array of lounges, cushions, ottomans, curtained areas, plasma screens and the chilled out DJ’s creating the laid back atmosphere for the crowd wanting a break from the dance arena.

The day beds, array with bright cushions under the trees were a welcomed rest break near the coffee service area for those who got up to rock with the dancers on the catwalk.

The raised decorated platform was a fantastic concept that allowed the crowd to view onto the racetrack and up and down the ‘Tentland Strip’. It also allowed the Smirnoff Experience Marquee patrons to interact with other Tentland crowds, not fortunate enough to get the Smirnoff Experience hands-on.

The massive 8.4m x 4.8m LED screen could not be missed. Showcasing the races of the day live to the crowd, it also provided a closer insight to the models and dancers parading the 30m catwalk inside the Twist Marquee to those enjoying the shaded chair and table areas outside.

The Napoleon Pamper Palace was continually jam-packed with girls anxious to be re-touched up by our 10 hair and make-up artists.

The food station and bar areas serviced the crowd well, who had plenty off space to socialise with other guests under the refreshing shaded areas.

And to top it off, the entire area was cooled using the world famous Cool Mist ‘misting’ system that ensured everyone was kept cool and comfortable, spraying a fine mist that refreshes while making sure not to alter hair do’s or made up faces.

Media coverage of Tentland focused on the Smirnoff marquee and much feedback has concluded the Smirnoff Experience has definitely raised the standard of the event.

We all look forward to what 2008 may hold!
