Roger Waters and Eric Clapton

Camille Bradsmith and her team recently site managed the very successful Roger Waters concert at Members Equity Stadium on Friday 9th February, followed by the sell out crowd for Eric Clapton on the Sunday evening, making for an unbelievable weekend of music.

The Roger Waters concert received rave reviews for its fantastic pyro’s and special effects, the awesome lighting show, the surround sound audio system, the now famous ‘pig’, and of course Roger himself.

The crowd were in awe of the fantastic audio system that during the performance of ‘Time’ sent out the sound of a ticking clock around the venue that came through the side, behind and in front of the crowd, which would only be described as surreal.

Then came out the gigantic inflatable pig. The massive helium filled balloon, spray painted with political slogans, had to be held by 4 guys on ropes who walked it around the inside of the venue, highlighted by 4 Followspots before, Oops; it flew away into the Perth night sky. The media began to track the pig that flew all the way across Perth to land in someone’s backyard pool in Bateman. The owners of the house were away at the time so the neighbours contacted the police. Management had no idea it was going to be let go.

The Eric Clapton concert on the Sunday evening was, as Gav Miller from 96 FM reported ‘a different show (to Roger Waters), with less wiz bang effects, but in terms of pure musicianship, was one of the best shows ever seen.’

Eric’s band was just amazing. Each performer played solos and they were all just remarkable musicians.

Both events were hailed as a success with Gav Miller even mentioning in his rock report that it was an ‘all very well run’ event.
