The Airnorth Kimberly Moon Experience is part of the Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster, held in Kununurra during the May and June each year.
The event is one of the most prestigious events held in Australia, with the concert held at the purpose built stage within the Kununurra Community Amphitheatre on the picturesque Ord River. This year’s line up included Desert Child, Tash Parker, Peter Brandy, Australian Army Band – Darwin, Peace, Love and All That Stuff, with Marcia Hines headlining and James Blundell presenting the event.
The event is so popular due to the intimate nature of the concert, with only a few thousand general admission able to attend, free to bring their own alcohol and picnic baskets and sit down and enjoy the concert from within metres of the stage. The Kimberly Fine Diamonds corporate circle was this year attended by 500 people with tickets sold out well in advance and in constant demand. Corporates are treated to an exclusive lounge area and ‘diamond bar’, an extraordinary 3 course sit down meal amongst beautiful surroundings (catered by Karen Sheldon Catering), stage front dance floor, competitions and gifts galore.
CCP coordinated the entire production requirements for the event as well as theming elements to the corporate dinner area (made the table runners, chair sashes and centre pieces) and the diamond bar. We also provided tables, stools and lounges for the diamond bar, the dance floor for the corporate area, and marquees for the backstage, catering and corporate areas.
Camille, Megan, Marty, Shannon and Jayke from CCP, Neil, Mike and Ed from AAA Productions and Aaron (Moose) from Statewide Staging were all flown to Kununurra for the event, with Nexus transporting the equipment in 3 x 40 foot containers.
We received many compliments on the beautiful presentation of the event and the fantastic sound, lighting and visual effects.
The event was also the first showcase of the lighting balloon that CCP has recently purchased (see separate article). The effect was amazing and just what the corporate area needed to provide effective dimmable mood lighting for the dining area.
