The Never Ever Land Festival featuring the amazing performance of Daft Punk hit The Esplanade Reserve Perth on Sunday December 16th. CCP site managed the event in the 20,000 person outdoor venue of the Reserve, as well as provided the lighting and rigging to the incredible show.
The venue presented a few mine fields but this was all overcome by the day of the event. Except for the weather! An unexpected week or cool weather and rain was leaving us all a little worried but even with the morning of the show still raining, it stopped just in time for doors. And we didn’t get another drop during the whole show. With such a pumped up crowd the cool but mild weather was a God send to those dancing for the full 10 hours. And there were plenty of those.
Although the streets outside the venue and along the river were lined with revellers who weren’t lucky enough to get tickets, the event had very little hassles. Only constant compliments on the insane Daft Punk performance. The light and audio visual show was one never to be forgotten and the creativity of the design could be put down as one, if not the best ever seen in WA.
Daft Punk toured their Versa Tube Set, the Soft LED curtain, pixel lines and the onstage video set platform from which the DJ’s did their stuff.
