Held inside a 45m x 45m 4 pole Circus tent supplied by Ashton’s Circus the event had many challenges to overcome before a single light was hung. Holding an event of this size and nature, and in June on the Esplanade in Perth, is risky due to the weather and the few days before the opening it was touch and go with the ground flooding and putting everything in jeopardy. The Design brief was to convert the inside of the Circus tent into an Indian themed intimate venue. The majority of the set was designed and built in India and shipped to Perth for re-assembly with some portions being made and handled locally. CCP’s Lighting Designer for the event Sean McKernan designed a system that not only supported the Lighting rig but also allowed the set to be hung and supported easily. Using over 400m of Global Truss 550mm, 400mm and 300mm Box Truss to create all the lighting positions and set supports it was a large undertaking. The Lighting rig was simple but effective with the following Equipment used to create a single state for the whole event: 8x Mac 2000 12x Mac 600 6x LED Honeycomb 72 4x LED Wall Washers 8x BO4 Par 64 MFL 22x ETC S4 Parnels 30x Kupo Multi Pars MFL 12x ETC S4 15/30 Zooms 12x ETC S4 19 degree 40x Par 56 on Floor stands 70m Blue LED Listel Light 24x Blue Fluro Fittings 8x 240v Par 16 Grand MA CCP also supplied 2x 12 panel Barco Slite 10XP LED screens for Image Mag and Video Rolls. Vision System included: 24x Barco Slite 10XP Panels 1x DX 700 LED Processor 1x Rental Power Box 2x Sony DXC-D55WSPL 1x Canon J22 EX 7.6B IRSD Long Lens 1x Canon YJ 20X 8.5B IRS Short Lens 2x Sony Controller/Interface CCU-TX50P PAL 2x Sony Controller/Interface CA-TX50P Camera Adaptor PAL 1x Sony Viewfinder- DXF-51inch B&W 2x Vinten V8-AP2 Vision System Tripod 1x Lens Controller- Canon SS-41-IASD Full Servo kit 2x Triax Cable - 50m 1x Grass Valley Indigo Vision Switcher SD 1x Grass Valley IDDR Hard drive recorder/playback, 2x 4 way LCD Preview monitor rack Datavideo TLM-404 TFT 1x 2 way Program/Preview monitor rack Datavideo TLM 702 TFT The Event ran for 3 days with two 2.5hr sessions a day. The Final result was stunning and was well received by all who attended, marking a successful end to a memorable once in a lifetime event. |
